His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, left Jerudong Park Medical Centre after successfully undergoing a Right Total Knee Replacement surgery on Sunday, 28th Rejab 1447 corresponding to 18th January 2026.

Also present to accompany His Majesty were Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam and members of the Royal Family.

Also present to bid farewell to His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

His Majesty conveyed his deep gratitude to the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam, both in the country and abroad, including students and various foreign nationals who prayed to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala for the immediate healing, perfect health and lasting well-being of His Majesty.

His Majesty also expressed his sincere appreciation for the messages of greetings and well wishes which were received from Heads of State and Government, as well as Royal Families throughout His Majesty's treatment.

At the same time, His Majesty expressed his sincere appreciation to the medical experts and medical team of Jerudong Park Medical Centre as well to

its officers and personnel, for the excellent treatment provided throughout

His Majesty's stay.

Before leaving Jerudong Park Medical Centre, Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
